The Department of Health invites applications from suitably qualified and motivated candidates for the position of General Worker (X1 Post) within the Logistics Directorate at the Ekurhuleni Health District Office. Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • AET Level 4 / Standard 7 / Grade 9 report / or Grade 12

  • Six (6) months’ experience

  • Initiative and problem-solving skills

  • Good interpersonal relations

  • Sound communication skills

  • Ability to communicate in at least two languages

  • Valid driver’s licence (essential)

  • A PDP will be an added advantage

  • Must be customer-focused and able to work well with others

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general logistics and transport-related duties, including:

  • Cleaning government vehicles and maintaining the parking area

  • Assisting with the loading and offloading of stock or furniture

  • Being on standby when required

  • Applying basic knowledge of transport operations

  • Working after hours and on weekends when required

  • Assisting in the Transport Office when necessary

  • Delivering and collecting vehicles to and from workshops for servicing

  • Assisting the Transport Officer with office duties when requested

  • Assisting with driving duties when required

  • Performing any other duties delegated by the Supervisor

This role requires flexibility, reliability, and willingness to support operations as needed.
