Job Summary

The Used Vehicle Sales Executive is responsible for driving revenue through the strategic sale of pre-owned inventory. Unlike new vehicle sales, the used car market requires a specialist who can build trust, evaluate trade-ins effectively, and demonstrate the reliability of our certified pre-owned fleet. You will be responsible for the end-to-end sales process—from lead generation and professional vehicle demonstrations to final price negotiation and F&I (Finance and Insurance) coordination—ensuring that every customer drives away with a quality vehicle and a world-class experience.


Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

1. Lead Generation & Customer Acquisition

  • Hunting for Business: Actively identify and cultivate potential customers through professional networking, strategic cold calling, and following up on digital leads.

  • Referral Networks: Build and maintain a robust referral network to ensure a consistent pipeline of high-quality prospects.

  • Market Awareness: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor pricing in the Western Cape used car market to position Hyundai’s inventory competitively.

2. Vehicle Demonstration & Consultative Selling

  • Product Knowledge: Maintain expert knowledge of various makes and models in our used inventory, focusing on the unique selling points of Hyundai’s high-value models.

  • Test Drives: Conduct professional test drives, demonstrating vehicle features, safety ratings, and performance to align with the customer’s specific lifestyle needs.

  • Needs Discovery: Qualify potential buyers by developing a deep understanding of their budget, financing requirements, and vehicle preferences.

3. Negotiation & Closing

  • Deal Structuring: Negotiate sales terms, including trade-in valuations and discount structures, to close deals that meet or exceed monthly sales targets.

  • Value Retention: Maximize the profitability of every deal while ensuring the customer receives a fair and transparent offer.

  • Closing Excellence: Seamlessly transition the customer to the Finance & Insurance (F&I) manager to finalize the purchase.

4. Relationship Management & Retention

  • Post-Sale Follow-up: Execute a structured follow-up process post-delivery to ensure total customer satisfaction and resolve any initial concerns.

  • Repeat Business: Cultivate long-term relationships to encourage repeat business and positive online reviews for the Hyundai Western Cape branch.

  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the workshop and valet teams to ensure vehicles are prepared to the highest standard for delivery.


Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for this professional sales role at Hyundai, candidates must meet the following:

  • Education: High school diploma (Matric) or equivalent is required.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive sales, specifically within the used vehicle sector.
