Position Overview
Smollan is seeking a results-driven Supervisor I to join our team in JHB East Rand. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing sales activities, promotional initiatives, and operational processes, ensuring the achievement of Point of Purchase (POP) objectives and business targets. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and experience in FMCG, cellular, or consumer electronics sectors.
As a Supervisor I, you will oversee day-to-day operations, drive lead generation, and manage key client relationships, ensuring operational excellence and delivering on company objectives. You will also mentor and guide a team to achieve performance goals while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Sales Management:
- Drive lead generation activities across the business product portfolio.
- Manage sales campaigns to maximize revenue and achieve POP objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities and coordinate strategies to expand market share.
- Promotional Activities & Marketing Execution:
- Plan, implement, and monitor promotional campaigns for client accounts.
- Ensure brand visibility and proper execution of marketing initiatives at points of sale.
- Track and report on the success and effectiveness of promotional activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including retail partners and internal teams.
- Serve as the main point of contact for client-related queries, resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with marketing, logistics, and sales teams to optimize operational outcomes.
- Operational Management:
- Supervise and monitor operational tasks to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Manage assets and expenses effectively, aligning with budget objectives.
- Implement and maintain operational standards to ensure smooth execution of campaigns.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track performance metrics and provide timely reports to senior management.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in processes and propose corrective actions.
- Ensure achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales targets.
Minimum Requirements
- 4-5 years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in FMCG, cellular, or consumer electronics at a managerial or supervisory level.
- Diploma, Degree, or NQF Level 6/7 qualification.
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license.
- Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to interpret performance metrics.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to influence and motivate team members to achieve results.
