Position Overview
Leroy Merlin is seeking an experienced Business Performance Leader to oversee the operational and financial performance of our Boksburg store. This role is pivotal in optimizing business processes, driving profitability, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and fostering a high-performing team culture. The successful candidate will provide strategic insights, monitor operational performance, and implement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and business results.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial & Economic Performance:
- Monitor and analyze store Profit & Loss statements, revenue, margin, personnel expenses, and productivity metrics.
- Coordinate the objectives process, including year-end forecasts and quantitative objectives for the upcoming year.
- Develop actionable strategies with the Management Committee to optimize store performance and margins.
- Oversee investment projects, ensuring alignment with budgets, business priorities, and store-specific needs.
- Operational Excellence:
- Implement internal controls and oversee compliance with company guidelines, including inventory checks and loss prevention plans.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and ergonomic initiatives to safeguard employees and customers.
- Lead store operations in alignment with company policies, guaranteeing high-quality customer experiences.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and support the Management Committee and departmental teams to achieve strategic objectives.
- Foster teamwork, communication, and collaboration across departments.
- Develop staff through training, coaching, and performance management.
- Customer Experience & Relationship Management:
- Maintain high standards of customer service across all touchpoints, both internally and externally.
- Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and implement improvement initiatives.
- Resolve escalated customer complaints and ensure consistent service delivery.
- Strategic Planning & Reporting:
- Provide regular performance reports and insights to senior management.
- Identify operational risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure timely implementation of action plans to meet business targets.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Previous experience in internal control, operations management, or customer service leadership within a retail environment.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, operational performance, and achieving sales targets.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and retail operations.
