Position Overview

Rhodes University’s CSD invites applications for Coordinator II: B.Ed. Foundation Phase (FP). This 5-year contract position involves:

  • Coordinating and managing B.Ed. FP part-time, in-service programs.

  • Facilitating learning across all relevant modules (Years 3–7).

  • Ensuring curriculum alignment with full-time B.Ed. FP programs.

  • Participating in the Senior Management Team (SMT) of CSD.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee B.Ed. FP programs and staff.

  • Facilitate curriculum delivery and learning modules.

  • Gather and analyse program data; write and present detailed reports.

  • Conduct site support visits and manage assessments.

  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making within the SMT.


Minimum Requirements

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Education Honours or equivalent (NQF Level 8); Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 6 years, including:

    • Teaching in ECD and primary school environments.

    • Facilitating adult learning and professional development programs.

    • Program coordination and management.

    • Writing reports, setting exams, and evaluating assessments.

    • Conducting site support visits.

    • Using computerised administrative systems.

    • A record of research and service delivery excellence.
