Position Overview
AFGRI is seeking a Workshop Manager to oversee all workshop operations at our Newcastle branch. The role involves supervising workshop staff, coordinating repair and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing budgets, and delivering high-quality customer service. The ideal candidate will have extensive mechanisation experience, including John Deere equipment, and a proven track record in team leadership and workshop management.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise all workshop activities, including scheduling, workflow control, and task prioritisation.

Identify, investigate, and resolve workshop-related problems efficiently.

Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Ensure personal protective equipment is used correctly by all staff.

Build and maintain excellent customer relationships and resolve client queries or complaints within turnaround times.

Handle all warranty claims and ensure credits are processed correctly.

Monitor job cards, working hours, and workshop status updates.

Ensure proper control and maintenance of tools and workshop equipment.

Enforce budget control and report on financial performance as required.

Manage employee performance standards, training, development, and disciplinary actions where necessary.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
-
Grade 12 certificate.
-
Qualified Mechanisation Technician.

Minimum 5 years experience as a mechanisation technician, including 3 years with John Deere equipment.

Valid driver’s licence.
Desirable:

Proven experience in workshop leadership and team management.

Knowledge of agriculture, agricultural technology, and farming practices.

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Ability to analyze problems and deliver solutions under pressure.
