Position Overview

Fidelity ADT is seeking an experienced Commercial Security Technician (Installations, Service & Maintenance) to join its team in Polokwane. This role focuses on the installation, servicing, maintenance, and commissioning of electronic security systems at commercial and industrial sites.

The successful candidate will be technically skilled, customer-focused, and capable of working independently on complex security installations and large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

Installations & Technical Services

Install, program, and commission electronic security systems at commercial and industrial premises.
Perform fault-finding, repairs, and maintenance on installed systems.
Integrate intruder alarms, CCTV systems, access control, and electric fencing solutions.
Plan and manage cable runs in coordination with wiremen and installation teams.

Systems & Technology

Install and program alarm systems including Ajax, Paradox, Texecom, Caddx, IDS, DSC, Rhino, and Risco.
Install and maintain electric fencing systems.
Configure smart CCTV solutions including line crossing, facial recognition, and street surveillance.
Set up and maintain wireless, fibre, and copper networks.
Install basic electrical systems including DB boards, inverters, UPSs, and generators.
Provide IT and network support where required.
Install and maintain access control systems including biometrics, UHF, facial recognition, and access cards.

Operations & Administration

Obtain customer codes prior to attending service calls and while on standby.
Complete job cards and system handovers after each installation or service call.
Provide feedback to management and the call centre upon job completion.
Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock takes.
Keep company vehicles clean and submit petrol slips timeously.

Minimum Requirements

Matric or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an electronic security technician.
Proven experience in programming, wiring, installation, and fault-finding.
Valid Code 08 driver’s licence (essential).
PSIRA registration (Grades E, D, and C).
