Position Overview
Job Title: Tactical Response Team Leader
Location: Carletonville, Gauteng
Employment Type: Permanent

The Tactical Response Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a specialized unit trained to respond to high-risk incidents, such as hostage rescues, active shooter events, and terrorist threats. The role focuses on protecting lives, mitigating dangerous situations, and maintaining public safety while supervising a tactical operations team.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the Tactical Response Team during high-risk incidents and emergency operations.

Execute tactical operations, including hostage rescues, barricade situations, search and apprehension missions.

Conduct pre-mission planning, intelligence gathering, and risk assessments.

Train and maintain team proficiency in firearms, close-quarters combat, breaching techniques, and defensive tactics.

Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response teams for coordinated operations.

Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures to protect civilians, team members, and assets.

Provide security for high-profile events, dignitaries, or critical infrastructure.

Ensure effective communication under high-pressure situations.

Demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and moral integrity in all operational activities.

Maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive operational information.
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 / Matric certificate
-
PSIRA Grade A certification
-
TRT (Tactical Response Team) Training Certificate – essential
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in law enforcement, military special operations, or private security with tactical operations focus

Supervisory experience; mining security industry experience advantageous

Competence with all firearms for business purposes (handgun, shotgun, rifle)

Certifications such as SWAT operator or tactical medic preferred

Physically fit and agile for strenuous tasks in challenging environments

Medically fit (must undergo a medical assessment)

Clean criminal record

Valid driver’s license and residence in West Rand area
