Position Overview

Voltex is seeking a highly organized and experienced Stores Supervisor for its Polokwane branch. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the incumbent will oversee warehouse and stores operations, ensuring smooth daily functioning, stock accuracy, compliance with company policies, and effective supervision of staff.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of warehouse processes, excellent electrical product knowledge, and the ability to manage teams to meet operational objectives efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

1. Warehouse and Stock Supervision

  • Supervise bulk storage operations, including goods receiving, storage, and dispatch.

  • Receive products from suppliers and ensure proper handling.

  • Ensure that received products are packaged according to Voltex specifications.

  • Monitor supplier vehicle off-loading and maintain control of goods receiving areas.

  • Check correct items and quantities are pulled, packed, and loaded for dispatch.

  • Ensure correct packaging and quality standards for all dispatched items.

2. Team and Access Management

  • Supervise and manage warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.

  • Prevent unauthorized removal of products from the warehouse.

  • Ensure that unauthorized personnel do not enter the stores.

3. Administration and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate paperwork for all warehouse transactions.

  • Conduct general administrative duties, including stock documentation and reporting.

  • Assist with stock taking and inventory reconciliation.

  • Maintain a secure, tidy, and organized warehouse environment at all times.

4. Operational Excellence and Safety

  • Monitor stock levels daily, including cycle counter stock items.

  • Ensure adherence to warehouse processes, safety standards, and protective clothing requirements.

  • Promote a culture of efficiency, accountability, and compliance across all warehouse operations.


Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 qualification (essential).

  • Minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ experience in a warehouse or stores environment is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

  • Excellent electrical product knowledge.

  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes and stock management.

  • Knowledge of safety standards and protective clothing relevant to warehouse operations.
