Warehouse Operations and Stores Support Role

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is recruiting two Stores Assistants for its Rustenburg branch. These full-time roles report to the Branch Manager and focus on supporting daily warehouse and branch operations, including stock receiving and dispatch, order processing, customer service, and maintaining stock accuracy.

The Stores Assistant positions play a vital role in ensuring efficient warehouse workflows, accurate stock handling, and adherence to safety and housekeeping standards. About the Role

The primary purpose of the Stores Assistant roles is to assist in leading, planning, organising, and controlling daily warehouse operations while supporting branch activities. Responsibilities include receiving stock, dispatching orders, processing picking slips, and assisting customers collecting goods.

Successful candidates will contribute to inventory control, operational efficiency, and maintaining a safe and organised warehouse environment. The roles require teamwork, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting daily warehouse operations.

Receiving and Dispatching Stock

Stores Assistants must assist with receiving stock, including quality checking, handling, and packing in line with company procedures.

Support must be provided for dispatch activities, ensuring stock is verified for quality and packed accurately before distribution.

Picking slips from Internal Sales must be processed, ensuring correct items and quantities are pulled.

Picking slips and stock bin cards must be signed to confirm accuracy and accountability.

Customer orders and related paperwork must be transported to the dispatch area to support efficient delivery operations.

Stock Control and Inventory Management

The Stores Assistants must ensure effective stock control and administration processes are maintained.

Stock must be packed and stored in designated allocation areas to maintain organisation and accessibility.

Cable cutting must be performed accurately where applicable to meet order requirements.

Participation in stock taking activities supports accurate inventory records and operational planning.

Accurate stock handling contributes to inventory integrity and operational efficiency.

Customer Interaction and Warehouse Support

The Stores Assistants must attend to customers collecting stock or orders, providing professional and efficient service.

Loading and offloading of stock must be performed carefully to prevent damage and ensure safety.

The roles require effective communication with customers and colleagues to support smooth warehouse operations.

Additional duties may be assigned by the Branch or Stores Manager to support operational requirements.

Housekeeping, Safety and Compliance

Effective housekeeping practices must be followed to maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment.

Stores must be kept neat and tidy to support safe and efficient operations.

Security regulations must be adhered to at all times to safeguard company assets and inventory.

Safety standards, including the use of protective clothing, must be followed to ensure safe handling of stock and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

Matric or equivalent qualification is required.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a store or warehouse environment is advantageous.

Good product knowledge and understanding of warehouse processes are essential.

Knowledge of safety standards and protective clothing practices is required.
