Position Overview

The Stores Assistant is responsible for the maintenance, security, and organization of stores and stock at 9 SAI Battalion. The role ensures proper handling, documentation, and security of all materials, as well as compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures.

This position is ideal for individuals who are disciplined, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of stores.

  • Prevent unauthorized access to store areas.

  • Accurately file and document all demands, receipts, storage, and issuance of equipment.

  • Count, mark, and bin stock accurately upon receipt from transit.

  • Ensure items are properly marked with bin numbers, ICN, and descriptions.

  • Accompany counting teams during stock takes and verify totals captured.

  • Apply maximum security measures, including locking windows, doors, and signing keys in and out.

  • Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of machinery and store equipment.

  • Apply Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) measures where required.


Minimum Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • ABET qualification (minimum).

Experience & Skills:

  • No prior experience required.

  • Basic verbal communication in English.

  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures.

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, cleaning equipment, and machinery operation.

  • Ability to perform routine tasks and work both independently and in a team.

  • Punctual, loyal, and reliable with integrity and neatness.

  • Ability to work shifts.

  • Bilingual advantageous.
