Role Purpose

The Store Planner is a critical link between the buying office and the retail floor. Your mission is to ensure the right product reaches the right store at the right time. By leveraging complex data sets and retail analytics, you will fine-tune sales strategies to align with company goals. You will move beyond simple stock management into the realm of clustering, seasonal profiling, and replenishment optimization, ensuring that every square meter of retail space is performing at its peak.

Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

1. Stock Distribution & Optimization

  • Seasonal Allocation: Manage the accurate distribution of seasonal stock to maximize full-price sales and minimize markdowns.

  • Replenishment Strategy: Oversee the optimal flow of non-seasonal and replenishment stock, ensuring core basics are never out of stock.

  • New Store Openings: Act as the lead for new store stock-ups, ensuring new locations are fully inventoried according to pre-defined plans.

2. Analytical Strategy & Clustering

  • Location Planning: Deliver location plans that allow for the clustering of stores based on demographic needs and product performance levels.

  • Profiling: Develop seasonal and non-seasonal replenishment profiles at the SKU/product level to cater to specific store footprints.

  • Performance Analysis: Provide timeous, accurate data analysis on store performance to influence high-level business decision-making.

3. Collaboration & Visual Merchandising

  • Visual Inputs: Supply critical data inputs for seasonal store looks to ensure visual merchandising aligns with available stock depth.

  • Query Resolution: Act as a central point of contact for store managers to resolve complex stock-related queries.

  • Supply Chain Synergy: Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth stock movement from the Distribution Centre (DC) to the shelf.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for future Store Planning opportunities, candidates should possess:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2–3 years of solid store planning experience within a clothing retail environment.

  • Education: Grade 12 Certificate/Matric is essential.

    • Ideal: A National Diploma or Degree in Business, Retail Management, Accounting, or Finance.

  • Technical Proficiency: * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are a significant advantage.

    • Experience with planning systems like Location Planning, JDA Allocation Planning, and/or Just Enough.

  • Preferred Background: Previous experience in Store Management, Outerwear, or general Logistics/Supply Chain processes.
