About the Department
The South African Air Force (SAAF) ensures operational readiness and support across all bases. At 68 Air School, Store Assistants play a critical role in managing equipment and supplies, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring the smooth operation of store facilities.
Position Overview
The Store Assistant will manage incoming and outgoing equipment, ensure compliance with store regulations, maintain records, and support ad hoc tasks related to store operations. This position is ideal for candidates with strong attention to detail, basic numeracy skills, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities

Receive and inspect all equipment and goods to ensure proper condition.

Complete registers for equipment received and issued.

Maintain store stock according to prescribed Fire Order (DD19).

Operate fire extinguishing apparatus where required.

Execute ad hoc store tasks as instructed by supervisors.

Maintain an organized, safe, and clean storage environment.

Assist in stocktaking and reporting discrepancies.

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding stock levels and requirements.
Minimum Requirements

ABET qualification or equivalent.

No prior experience required.

Basic communication (verbal and written) skills.

Basic numeracy skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team.
