Clicks Group Limited, South Africa’s leading health and beauty retailer, is looking for two (X2) dedicated Shop Assistants / Cashiers to join our team at Atlasville in Boksburg. This role is the heartbeat of our store, where you will be the face of the brand, ensuring every customer “feels good and pays less.” If you are accurate, friendly, and eager to drive sales through world-class service and merchandising, we want to hear from you.
Role Purpose
The Shop Assistant / Cashier is responsible for delivering service excellence through efficient customer service, precise point-of-sale (POS) operations, and high-standard merchandising. Your goal is to ensure a positive customer journey from the moment they enter the aisles until they complete their transaction. You will act as a brand ambassador, promoting the Clicks ClubCard and ensuring our customers stay informed about the best promotions in the market.
Key Job Objectives
1. Point of Sale (POS) & Cash Handling

Transactional Accuracy: Execute all operational activities at the till in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining 100% accuracy when scanning merchandise.

Payment Processing: Safely handle cash, process card payments, and accurately action ClubCard rewards and vouchers.

Loyalty Drive: Proactively promote the Clicks ClubCard program and enroll new members to achieve the store’s participation targets.
2. Customer Service Excellence

Brand Ambassador: Be visible on the shop floor, offering friendly and professional service that reflects Clicks’ core values.

Promotional Awareness: Actively inform customers about ongoing sales and promotions (like 3-for-2 deals) to ensure customers get the best value.

Product Knowledge: Maintain updated knowledge on products, ranges, and events to provide accurate information to customers at all times.
3. Merchandising & Housekeeping

Shelf Standards: Efficiently execute and maintain all merchandising and general housekeeping duties according to store and visual merchandise standards.

Stock Management: Support the store’s vision by ensuring products are well-displayed and shelves are consistently replenished according to stock management procedures.
Requirements & Competencies
Education & Experience
-
Essential: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.

Desirable: At least 50% in Mathematics and 50% in English at the Grade 12 level.

Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role within a retail/FMCG environment is considered highly desirable.
Knowledge & Skills

Numeracy: Strong basic maths calculations and numeracy skills for accurate cash handling.

Retail Savvy: Understanding of merchandising and promotions principles within an FMCG background.

Soft Skills: Planning and organizing skills, problem-solving, and a strong customer orientation.

Technology: Computer literacy to operate modern digital POS systems.
