Position Overview

Adendorff Machinery Mart is seeking a Service Advisor – Tools and Machinery for the Gezina, Pretoria branch. The successful candidate will act as the technical liaison between customers and service technicians, ensuring exceptional service delivery and maintaining positive customer relationships.

This role is ideal for a candidate with technical knowledge of tools, machinery, and mechanical systems, who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service and Consultation

  • Consult with repairs technicians regarding necessary repairs and alternatives.

  • Provide customers with detailed information about available parts, services, and warranties.

  • Schedule and manage service appointments.

  • Advise customers on pick-up times, service outcomes, and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.

Technical Oversight and Workflow Management

  • Oversee the workflow and schedule within the repairs division.

  • Ensure service processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with company standards.

  • Liaise with technicians and management to prioritize repairs and service tasks.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers as needed.

Operational and Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and service reports.

  • Promote a positive image of the branch through professionalism and technical expertise.

  • Participate in training to continually develop technical knowledge and service skills.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.

  • Proven experience as a Service Advisor or similar role in tools, machinery, or mechanical repairs.

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and machinery.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers at all levels.

  • Detail-oriented, motivated, and reliable.

Advantageous:

  • Technical knowledge of DIY tools, welding machines, compressors, petrol/diesel engines, and generators.

  • Experience in a retail or service environment related to tools and machinery.

  • Ability to work retail/service hours:

    • Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 17:00

    • Saturday: 08:00 – 13:00

  • Must be technically savvy and capable of liaising effectively with customers and technicians.
