Are you a highly analytical finance professional with a passion for corporate governance and risk management? Clicks Group Limited, South Africa’s leading health, beauty, and wellness retailer, is looking for a Senior Internal Auditor (Finance) to join our Group Internal Audit department. Based at our Corporate Head Office in Woodstock, Cape Town, you will act as a strategic business partner, adding measurable value to the organization while maintaining the highest levels of independence and integrity. Role Purpose
The Senior Internal Auditor (Finance) is tasked with transforming the Internal Audit Department into a business partner of choice. Reporting directly to the Finance Audit Manager, you will provide a quality, leading service to the business by evaluating the effectiveness of the control environment, identifying systemic risks, and ensuring compliance with international standards. You will be a catalyst for change, providing concise, risk-based insights that help the Group achieve its strategic objectives while safeguarding shareholder value.
Key Job Objectives
1. Audit Execution & Planning

Project Scoping: Support the Finance Audit Manager in executing the annual audit plan and determining the specific scope of internal audit projects.

Risk Mapping: Map complex business processes to evaluate the effectiveness of the control environment and identify key controls.

Testing & Analysis: Perform rigorous testing of control adequacy for high-risk areas and analyze data to identify non-compliance or emerging risks.

Documentation: Prepare professional audit planning documents and comprehensive work papers that meet international professional practice standards.
2. Reporting & Value Addition

Concise Reporting: Prepare draft risk-based audit reports that clearly highlight root causes, potential impacts, and practical recommendations for business improvement.

Stakeholder Discussion: Lead discussions with business units to finalize findings and foster a participative effort between management and internal audit.

Follow-ups: Maintain a disciplined monthly follow-up process on open and overdue audit findings to ensure remediation.
3. Team Leadership & Specialized Review

Mentorship: Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of up to four auditors on specific assignments, prioritizing the professional development of your peers.

Ad-Hoc Reviews: Conduct value-add reviews and attend physical stock counts at retail and distribution sites to verify asset integrity.

Technical Excellence: Apply specialist knowledge of IFRS, corporate governance principles, and auditing techniques using tools like TeamMate.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Qualifications

Essential: Qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) – CA(SA).

Certification: CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) certification.

Licensing: Valid driver’s license is essential as travel is required.
Experience & Technical Skills

Tenure: Minimum of 5 years’ experience within an internal audit environment.

Industry Knowledge: Experience in Retail, Wholesale, Logistics, or Pharmaceuticals is highly advantageous.

Systems: Proficiency in TeamMate audit software and advanced data analysis tools.

Methodology: Deep knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
