Position Overview

Job Title: Senior Handy Man
Location: Van Zylsrus, Northern Cape
Employment Type: Permanent
Department: Maintenance / Facilities
Salary: R216,000 – R300,000 per annum
Minimum Experience: Mid-Senior Level

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Handy Man to join our team at Tswalu Kalahari Reserve. The successful candidate will oversee all maintenance projects, ensuring buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment to assess maintenance needs

  • Conduct necessary repairs and maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building upkeep

  • Install and service equipment and appliances according to safety regulations

  • Ensure compliance with OHS regulations and building codes

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports

  • Report issues promptly to the Maintenance Manager or clients

  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner

  • Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely

  • Participate in Long Run’s 4 C initiatives and GER standards

  • Provide supervision, delegate tasks, and guide junior staff where required

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate

  • Carpentry trade test

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in building maintenance, construction, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry

  • Driver’s license Code EB

  • Computer literacy

  • Fluent in English (speak, read, and write)
