Introduction

The primary goal of this role is to generate income and maximize profit through expert sales techniques and world-class customer service. You will be responsible for identifying customer needs, recommending premium products, and maintaining long-term relationships to ensure repeat business and brand loyalty.

Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

1. Sales Generation & Target Achievement

  • Active Selling: Execute strategic sales activities to drive turnover and ensure the branch consistently meets its sales budget and income targets.

  • Prospecting: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities and leads within the Newcastle area to grow the branch’s customer base.

  • Leadership: Act as a senior figure on the floor, with the responsibility to stand in for the Branch Manager during their absence.

2. Customer Centricity & Merchandising

  • Service Excellence: Deal with every customer in a professional and customer-centric manner, ensuring their experience aligns with the Bradlows brand.

  • Visual Appeal: Attract and retain customers through effective floor merchandising, ensuring product displays are inviting and correctly priced.

  • Product Expertise: Maintain extensive product knowledge across all categories (Lounge, Dining, Bedroom, and Appliances) to provide accurate advice.

3. Administration & Compliance

  • Transaction Processing: Action both cash and credit applications/processes in strict accordance with company policy and National Credit Act (NCA) requirements.

  • Administration: Ensure all sales-related paperwork is completed with high attention to detail to prevent operational delays.

  • Self-Management: Demonstrate effective self-management and contribute positively to the branch’s team culture.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for this Mid-Senior role at Bradlows, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.

  • Experience: 7 – 12 months of sales experience, with a strong preference for candidates coming from a high-ticket retail environment (Furniture, Appliances, or Cellular).

  • EE Status: This position is strictly aligned with the company’s Employment Equity goals and is only open to EE candidates.

  • Attributes: Proven ability to take initiative and a “taking action” mindset.
