This role is based at Hyundai Zambezi, within the Hyundai Gauteng Sales Region.
Position Overview
The Sales Manager: New Vehicles will lead the dealership’s sales department, drive revenue growth, and ensure customer satisfaction at every stage of the sales journey. You will coordinate the full sales cycle from first customer contact to final delivery, while motivating the sales team to meet and exceed monthly dealership sales targets.
This position reports directly to the Dealer Principal.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Target Achievement

Set and manage monthly dealership sales targets.

Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve quotas.

Monitor team and individual performance on an ongoing basis.

Review weekly financial performance of the sales department.
2. Team Leadership & Development

Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of sales executives.

Conduct regular coaching sessions focusing on product knowledge and sales techniques.

Foster a results-driven, high-energy sales culture.
3. Customer Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.

Provide guidance on vehicle financing and purchase-related enquiries.

Ensure an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales process.

Develop and implement customer-focused sales strategies.
4. Market & Competitor Analysis
-
Assess dealership sales data to identify opportunities for performance improvement.

Analyse competitor activities and market trends to inform strategy.

Adjust sales plans in line with new model launches and shifts in the market.

Prepare and present sales reports to senior management.

Attend dealer meetings, product training sessions, and incentive programmes.
5. Cross-Department Collaboration

Work closely with marketing, finance, and other operational teams to align sales objectives with dealership performance goals.

Support a seamless end-to-end sales process through interdepartmental cooperation.
Minimum Requirements
-
3+ years of proven experience in the automotive industry.

Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets for new and used vehicles.

Valid South African driver’s license.
