Position Overview

Smollan is seeking a proactive, motivated, and results-oriented Sales Consultant to join our Durban North team. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for sales, strong customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

As a Sales Consultant, you will act as the primary point of contact for customers in-store, driving sales, enhancing the customer experience, and contributing to the overall growth of the company. You will also play a key role in marketing initiatives and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Satisfaction and Service

  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide personalized solutions.

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by offering professional, friendly, and knowledgeable service.

  • Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a timely and effective manner.

  • Promote Smollan’s brand values and enhance customer loyalty through excellent service.

In-Store Sales and Marketing

  • Implement effective sales strategies to achieve targets and objectives.

  • Drive product promotions and marketing campaigns within the store.

  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.

  • Support visual merchandising standards and ensure that products are displayed effectively.

  • Assist in the development and execution of the store’s commercial action plan.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, customer interactions, and marketing activities.

  • Capture daily, weekly, and monthly reports based on sales performance and customer engagement.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for reporting and documentation.

  • Collaborate with management to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.

  • Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in sales, preferably in a retail environment.

  • Knowledge & Skills:

    • Strong sales acumen and understanding of marketing principles.

    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

    • Effective administration and organizational skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Personal Attributes:

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
