Purpose of the Role
The Sales Consultant is responsible for driving in-store sales, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining accurate sales administration at the Gateway retail location. You will be the primary point of contact for customers in-store, providing expert product guidance, closing sales, and ensuring every customer interaction reflects the highest standards of professionalism and brand representation.

In-Store Sales & Marketing
- Actively engage customers on the shop floor and guide them through the product selection process with confidence and product knowledge.
- Drive in-store sales by understanding customer needs, demonstrating product benefits, and closing sales effectively.
- Implement in-store marketing and promotional activities in line with brand and campaign guidelines.
- Ensure product displays, signage, and promotional materials are correctly positioned, fully stocked, and visually compelling at all times.

- Maintain thorough, up-to-date knowledge of all products, promotions, and brand campaigns to provide accurate and relevant guidance.
Administration
- Complete all sales administration accurately and timeously, including transaction processing, stock records, and daily sales capture.
- Maintain organised and up-to-date records of customer interactions, sales data, and promotional activity performance.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports to the line manager as required.
- Process customer transactions correctly using the relevant point-of-sale (POS) system and ensure all documentation is completed per company procedure.
- Assist with stock counts, replenishment requests, and inventory management as required.
- Ensure all administrative tasks comply with company policies and brand standards.
Minimum Requirements – Smollan Sales Consultant
Educational Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) — required
- Additional sales, marketing, or retail qualification is advantageous
Work Experience
- 2 to 3 years of proven sales experience — required
- Experience in retail, in-store sales, or a consumer-facing sales environment is strongly preferred

Technical Skills
