FMCG Delivery Support and Route Sales Assistance Role

Premier FMCG is recruiting a Sales Assistant to join its BR Rustenburg Depot in Rustenburg, North West. This permanent, onsite role supports the Sales department by assisting the Salesman Driver with daily product deliveries, customer service, and operational tasks related to route sales and distribution.

The Sales Assistant plays an important role in ensuring accurate deliveries, maintaining vehicle hygiene, supporting cash and tray collections, and contributing to efficient customer service on delivery routes. About the Role

The primary purpose of the Sales Assistant role is to support the Salesman Driver in ensuring Premier products are delivered accurately and efficiently to customers. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and a proactive approach to customer interactions.

The successful candidate will assist with loading verification, offloading products at customer locations, and maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness. The role also includes supporting cash handling processes and ensuring compliance with company procedures during daily route operations.

Delivery and Distribution Responsibilities

The Sales Assistant must check company products against the loading sheet and sign off to confirm accuracy before departure.

Adherence to standard departure times is essential to ensure timely deliveries and route efficiency.

Products must be offloaded at customer premises carefully and accurately to support order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.

The role requires maintaining accountability for product handling to prevent damage or loss during deliveries.

Accurate verification of products supports operational integrity and customer trust.

Vehicle Safety and Cash Handling

The Sales Assistant must take responsibility for vehicle safety and hygiene to ensure a professional and compliant delivery environment.

Where applicable, the role includes collecting cash from customers and ensuring it is cashed in daily according to company procedures.

All accidents or incidents must be reported immediately to the Transport Department and Service Manager to ensure proper follow-up and compliance.

Maintaining safe driving and delivery practices contributes to overall operational safety.

Customer Interaction and Relationship Building

Strong customer interaction is required during deliveries to maintain positive relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.

The Sales Assistant must demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and a service-oriented approach when engaging with customers.

Collaboration with the Salesman Driver ensures efficient delivery operations and customer service consistency.

The role operates in a pressurised FMCG distribution environment.

This is a 6-day position requiring flexibility to work weekends and public holidays based on business needs.

The Sales Assistant may be required to work in alternative areas depending on operational requirements.
