Werkie is recruiting two experienced Sales Agents – Customer Service to join a well-established technology and security solutions provider on a permanent basis in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal. This mid-to-senior level role is ideal for a seasoned sales professional who excels in account management, client retention, upselling, and cross-selling, with a strong focus on building long-term customer relationships.

About the Role

The Sales Agent – Customer Service role is centered on managing and growing existing client accounts rather than cold calling. The successful candidates will be responsible for nurturing relationships, identifying additional revenue opportunities within current accounts, and ensuring ongoing renewals and client loyalty.

This role requires a strong balance between commercial acumen and customer-centric service, with close collaboration across internal teams such as marketing and product development to enhance client offerings.


Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship and Account Management

The successful candidates will manage and develop strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, trust, and long-term loyalty. This includes acting as the primary point of contact and managing customer expectations throughout the relationship lifecycle.


Sales Growth, Upselling, and Cross-Selling

A core responsibility of the role is identifying and executing upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the existing client base. This includes developing strategic account plans in collaboration with clients to support sustainable revenue growth.


Client Retention and Contract Renewals

The role involves overseeing contract renewals, ensuring continuity of service, and proactively addressing any risks to client retention. Daily tracking and monitoring of client performance metrics form part of this responsibility.


Internal Collaboration and Delivery Oversight

The Sales Agent will work closely with internal teams, including marketing and product development, to align solutions with client needs. The role also requires strict adherence to rollout plans, timelines, and implementation deadlines.


Minimum Requirements

Candidates applying for this position must meet the following requirements:

  • Proven 5–10 years’ sales experience in a similar role

  • Strong experience in account management and existing client servicing

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Ability to work independently and perform under pressure

  • Strong customer-centric mindset with a focus on satisfaction and retention


Qualifications and Experience Advantageous

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales & Marketing, or a related field

  • Experience within industries such as mining, construction, logistics, facilities, hospitality, security, or agriculture

  • Strong knowledge of security products and services


Technical Skills

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with CRM systems, particularly Zoho and Acumatica
