The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) is recruiting a Receptionist / Switchboard Operator within the Facilities, Administration and Security Department, based in Pretoria. This permanent opportunity forms part of the Banking, Finance and Investment industry and reports directly to the Manager: Facilities.

This role is designed for a professional and customer-focused individual who will act as the front-line representative of the organisation while delivering administrative support to the reception area. The successful candidate will ensure that all visitors, contractors, and callers experience efficient and professional service aligned with departmental service delivery standards.

Purpose of the Role

The primary purpose of the Receptionist / Switchboard Operator is to act as the front-line person and provide professional administrative support to the FSCA reception area.

The role supports organisational operations by ensuring professional communication, accurate message handling, and effective visitor and mail management.

By maintaining a structured and welcoming reception environment, the role contributes directly to positive stakeholder engagement and operational efficiency.

Key Performance Areas

The Receptionist / Switchboard Operator will focus on customer centricity and ensuring good customer service for a positive customer experience.

Receive visitors and contractors and register them on the electronic visitor management system.

Communicate professionally and effectively with staff and visitors.

Operate the switchboard professionally by directing all phone calls correctly.

Record and distribute messages electronically via email and telephonically using MS Teams.

Capture incoming and outgoing mail and parcels on the electronic mail tracking system.

Ensure general tidiness and cleanliness at the reception area.

Check and monitor the switchboard telephone system to ensure operational functionality.

Adhere strictly to departmental service delivery standards.

These responsibilities ensure seamless reception management and effective communication within the organisation.

Minimum Requirements

Matric Certificate (Grade 12)

Candidates must demonstrate prior experience in reception or administrative environments and be capable of managing professional communication channels effectively.
