Position Overview

CIPC is seeking unemployed South African graduates for its 24-month Graduate Internship Programme in E-Communications. Interns will be placed at the Sunnyside Office in Pretoria and will gain valuable work experience in a public service environment.

This internship is part of South Africa’s Cabinet-approved initiative (December 2002) to provide graduate work experience, enabling young professionals to practise the skills they have studied and prepare for long-term careers.


Key Responsibilities

Interns will be expected to:

  • Assist with internal and external communication initiatives, including corporate correspondence, reports, and online content.

  • Support the digital communications team in managing email campaigns, social media content, and online platforms.

  • Conduct research and analysis to support communication strategies and decision-making.

  • Draft and edit professional documents, including presentations, press releases, and newsletters.

  • Assist in organising events and campaigns aligned with CIPC’s strategic objectives.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective messaging and information dissemination.

  • Maintain proper records and documentation of communication projects.

  • Support general administrative duties related to communication operations.


Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • National N Diploma in Management Assistant or relevant TVET qualification.

  • Be an unemployed South African graduate between the ages of 18 and 35 years.

  • Must not have previously participated in an internship programme.

  • Should have no prior work experience in a similar professional capacity.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic digital communication tools is recommended.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Remuneration

Successful interns will receive a stipend of R12,000 per month for the 24-month programme. Interns are required to sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement upon appointment.
