Warehouse and Logistics Role in Cape Town

An opportunity is available for a Picker/Packer based in Epping, Cape Town. This is a contract role focused on accurate order picking and secure packing for shipment within a fast-paced warehouse environment. The position is open to entry-level candidates who are reliable, physically fit, and detail-oriented.

The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, contributing directly to the smooth running of daily warehouse operations.

About the Role

The Picker/Packer is responsible for picking items from designated inventory locations based on order requirements and packing them securely using appropriate packaging materials. Packages must be accurately labelled for shipment and orders must be completed on time and without errors.

This role suits someone who works well under pressure, takes pride in accuracy, and understands the importance of maintaining a clean and organised work area throughout the shift.

Picking and Packing Responsibilities

The Picker/Packer will pick items from inventory based on daily order requirements and ensure each item is packed securely to prevent damage during shipment. All packages must be correctly labelled before dispatch.

Maintaining accuracy and meeting order deadlines are the two most important aspects of this role. The ability to work efficiently without compromising on quality is essential.

Warehouse Operations and Safety

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a clean and organised work area at all times. All safety guidelines must be followed when handling, lifting, and moving items throughout the warehouse.

Effective communication with team members and supervisors is required to ensure that operations run smoothly and any issues are flagged and resolved quickly.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is an advantage but not essential. The candidate must have strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and good physical fitness including the ability to lift and move heavy items. Basic computer skills for order processing and strong teamwork skills are required.
