AFGRI Equipment is seeking to appoint a Parts Salesperson on a permanent basis at its Salt Rock, KwaZulu-Natal branch. This role is suited to an experienced parts sales professional who is confident in over-the-counter sales, stock control, and customer service within an equipment or technical sales environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering efficient parts sales and administrative support while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and customer satisfaction.


About the Role

The Parts Salesperson will be responsible for providing over-the-counter sales and administration functions of parts stock. This includes assisting customers with parts requirements, processing sales and returns, managing stock levels, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and safety standards.

This role plays a critical part in supporting branch operations by ensuring stock availability, accurate cash handling, and strong relationships with both internal and external clients.


Key Responsibilities

Parts Sales and Customer Service

The successful candidate will attend to walk-in customers and assist with identifying and resolving customer queries and complaints in a professional and timeous manner. Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external clients is a key responsibility.

The role also includes processing payments, collecting cash, accepting credit card payments, and ensuring that all sales transactions are handled accurately and in line with established procedures.


Stock Control and Inventory Management

The Parts Salesperson will ensure stable availability of stock by ordering parts in line with branch procedures. Responsibilities include conducting regular stock counts and stock takes, managing stock control, and rotating old and new stock to minimise losses and ensure optimal stock usage.

All stock must be kept in a safe and secure condition in compliance with company and safety requirements.


Administration, Compliance, and Risk Management

Accurate cash balancing is essential, along with ensuring that account payments are processed timeously. The role requires strict adherence to risk, safety, and legislative requirements, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12

  • Minimum of 1 year sales and administration experience

  • Parts sales experience is essential

  • Valid driver’s licence


Technical Knowledge and Competencies

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong product knowledge

  • Computer literacy (MS Office)

  • Good customer service skills

  • Effective communication skills

  • Valid driver’s licence
