Impact HR is seeking a skilled and qualified Millwright Technician to join a maintenance team based in Rosslyn, Pretoria, Gauteng, on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong mechanical and electrical expertise, who is physically fit and able to work in a demanding industrial environment.
The position plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of plant and equipment through effective maintenance, fault finding, and repair activities.
About the Role
The Millwright Technician is responsible for carrying out maintenance and repair work on mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with safety standards. The role requires strong troubleshooting ability, technical precision, and the flexibility to participate in standby duties when required.
This position suits a proactive technician who can work independently, handle physical demands, and maintain high workmanship standards in a production or agricultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance
The successful candidate will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. This includes diagnosing faults, repairing breakdowns, and restoring equipment to optimal working condition.
Fault Finding and Troubleshooting
The role requires effective troubleshooting of technical issues, identifying root causes of equipment failures, and implementing permanent solutions to prevent recurrence.
Routine Inspections and Maintenance
The Millwright Technician will conduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance tasks, identifying potential issues before they result in breakdowns or production disruptions.
Safety and Compliance

Standby and Operational Support

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in both mechanical and electrical disciplines

Wireman’s license – preferred

Welding and metalwork experience

Physically and mentally fit, with the ability to lift and handle loads of up to 25 kg

Valid driver’s license with a good driving history

Willingness and ability to work standby
