Purpose of the Role
The Messenger is responsible for the collection and delivery of specimens, reports, and other essential items at the Vincent Pallotti branch — exercising good customer care in every interaction, supporting basic housekeeping, and upholding PathCare’s values of reliability, ethics, and patient-centred service across shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities – Messenger
Specimen & Report Collection and Delivery
- Collect and deliver medical specimens, laboratory reports, and other items across the Vincent Pallotti branch and hospital precinct — completing every collection and delivery safely, accurately, and on time.
- Exercise good customer care in every interaction — representing PathCare professionally and courteously with hospital staff, patients, and clinical teams.
- Handle all specimens and reports with care — maintaining packaging integrity and specimen safety throughout.
- Ensure all items reach their correct destination promptly — supporting the diagnostic turnaround times that clinical teams rely on.
Basic Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and professionally presented branch environment through basic housekeeping duties — supporting patient wellbeing and PathCare’s professional image.
Operational Support
- Display initiative in supporting branch operations — assisting colleagues and branch management in maintaining smooth, high-performing daily workflows across all shifts.
