Purpose of the Role

The Marketing Operations Manager provides leadership and full management of the marketing team and function for the Golden Valley Casino business unit. The role encompasses planning and delivering gaming marketing initiatives, collaborating with central marketing and operations on the Customer Experience plan, managing promotions, activations, and the Loyalty Programme, ensuring database integrity, and implementing digital marketing campaigns to maximise footfall and revenue at the property.

This role drives customer acquisition, growth, reactivation, and retention while building Golden Valley Casino’s brand as the hospitality destination of choice in the Western Cape — and developing a strong internal marketing talent pipeline for long-term sustainable success.


Key Responsibilities – Marketing Operations Manager

Delivered Marketing Plans & Results

  • Develop and deliver the business unit’s marketing strategy and objectives, aligned to the broader Sun International Group and unit strategy, with a clear focus on increasing footfall and revenue.
  • Provide input into new and innovative marketing plans, leveraging relationships to promote revenues, competitive advantage, and operationalising the gaming strategy.
  • Collaborate with central marketing teams to grow the unit’s gaming brand across online platforms and social media, increasing customer recognition and excitement around Golden Valley Casino as the regional casino brand of choice.
  • Conduct market research, data collection, analysis, and interpretation of Business Intelligence tools to develop a clear view of customer preferences and market trends.
  • Influence and co-ordinate promotions, activations, events, and entertainment by evaluating customer trends and adapting plans to meet changing business priorities.
  • Collaborate with operations to develop customer retention and acquisition plans that identify new acquisition opportunities, increase site visitations, and grow revenue spend.

Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Communicate with internal stakeholders on all marketing plans, ensuring full understanding and buy-in for effective implementation.

  • Make evidence-based recommendations to optimise marketing spend and maximise return on investment.

People Management & Team Development

  • Manage positive employee relations within the marketing team, driving a high-performance culture aligned to Sun International’s values.
  • Provide direction, support, motivation, and coaching to all marketing team members, promoting positive and productive working relationships.

Minimum Requirements – Marketing Operations Manager

Educational Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-Year Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or an equivalent qualification — required

Work Experience
