Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualification:

• Minimum General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) / Grade 9 (Standard 7) or equivalent qualification.

Experience Requirements:

• Appropriate experience working in laundry or linen services within a hospital or clinic environment will be advantageous.

Inherent Job Requirements:

• Willingness to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy linen bags.

• Ability to handle heavily soiled linen that may contain human excretions, blood, and other biological materials.

• Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy items safely.

Competency Profile:

• Good knowledge of laundry and linen policies, procedures, and protocols.

• Strong work ethics and commitment to service quality.

• Good interpersonal communication and teamwork abilities.

• Strong organizational and decision-making skills.

• Knowledge of inventory and stock control processes.

• Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Linen Supervisor will be responsible for the following functions:

Supervise Linen and Laundry Operations

• Oversee daily linen and laundry processing activities.

• Operate and supervise the use of laundry machinery and equipment safely.

• Ensure proper supervision and control of linen cleaning processes.

Personnel and Administration Management

• Supervise laundry staff members.

• Assist with human resource administration tasks.

• Maintain proper records related to staff performance and operations.

Quality Control and Compliance

• Monitor quality standards within laundry operations.

• Ensure compliance with hospital hygiene and infection control standards.

• Report any equipment faults or operational challenges.

Communication and Coordination

• Liaise with laundry management and hospital departments.

• Provide feedback on linen stock levels and operational needs.

The Linen Supervisor must ensure efficient service delivery while maintaining professional standards and supporting hospital operational requirements.
