Baking and Operations Learnership Opportunity at RCL Foods

RCL Foods is inviting enthusiastic and motivated students to join its Baking Learnership Program in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. This 12-month SETA-accredited learnership provides practical exposure, mentorship, and formal qualification endorsed by SAQA, designed to develop the next generation of skilled professionals in the baking industry.

About the Learnership

The RCL Foods Baking Learnership is a comprehensive program that combines practical work experience with mentorship and coaching. Learners will gain insight into the baking process, operational procedures, and industry best practices.

Through the Supreme Siyabhaka Academy, learners will develop:

  • Professional skills to create employable young professionals in the baking sector

  • Awareness and expertise in RCL Foods’ baking brands, promoting excellence and consistency

  • Industry-leading skills to improve in-store and professional bakery products, enhancing customer experience


Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in all practical baking and operational training modules

  • Follow mentorship and coaching guidance throughout the 12-month program

  • Assist with baking production processes under supervision

  • Apply learned skills to real-world tasks, contributing to the bakery operations

  • Complete required assignments and assessments in line with SETA standards

  • Demonstrate a proactive, problem-solving attitude and willingness to learn


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 qualification with Hospitality Studies and Mathematics (Lit)

  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office) advantageous

  • Demonstrated drive and motivation to achieve performance goals

  • Creative thinking, lateral problem-solving, and willingness to learn and grow


Desired Skills and Competencies

  • Passion for baking and food production

  • Eagerness to learn and develop technical and professional skills

  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions

  • Ability to work well within a team environment

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
