Role Summary

The Junior Branch Marketer is responsible for driving the sales of the organization’s merchandise through effective stock marketing and world-class customer service. You will act as a technical advisor to our farming clients, ensuring that the right agricultural commodities—from mechanization parts to irrigation systems—are always available. This role requires a blend of retail sales expertise, inventory management, and a deep commitment to the VKB legacy of touching lives for the better.

Key Work Output and Accountabilities

1. Sales & Agricultural Marketing

Target Achievement: Sell the organization’s specialized merchandise in accordance with agreed branch targets and growth strategies.
Technical Marketing: Effectively market complex agricultural stock, including mechanization parts (oil, bearings, ploughshares, slasher blades) and hardware to local producers.
Customer Liaison: Render high-standard customer service to walk-in customers and manage professional interactions via telephone and email.

2. Stock Control & Operations

Inventory Management: Oversee stock control within your department to ensure constant availability of high-demand items for clients.
Ordering: Facilitate accurate stock orders to prevent bottlenecks in the supply chain.
Merchandising: Ensure that agricultural commodities are displayed professionally to maximize visibility and sales potential.

3. Professional Development

Continuous Training: Willingness to undergo continuous training to stay updated on the latest agricultural technology, irrigation systems, and electrical equipment.
Ad-hoc Duties: Perform various job-related administrative and operational tasks as delegated by the Branch Manager.

Requirements & Competencies

Education & Experience

Minimum Education: Grade 12 or NQF 4.
Industry Exposure: Previous experience in an agricultural retail environment is highly advantageous.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanization ranges (bearings, ploughshares, slasher blades, etc.) is a core requirement.
Added Advantage: Knowledge of Irrigation systems or Electrical equipment will serve as a strong recommendation.

Core Skills

Sales Prowess: Sound sales, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Soft Skills: Ability to handle pressure, manage conflict, and solve problems independently.
Digital Literacy: Basic computer skills are required for stock management and communication.
Orientation: A strong focus on marketing and a proactive approach to client service.
