The Department of Employment and Labour provides strategic human resource support, promotes performance excellence, and ensures compliance with labour regulations across South Africa. Position Overview

The Department invites unemployed graduates to apply for the Training and Performance Management Internship 2025–2027. This internship offers practical exposure to performance management, training coordination, HR administration, and support for departmental development programmes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate performance agreement assessments.
  • Capture and verify performance agreements on PERSAL.
  • Provide secretariat and logistical support for PMDS Committee meetings.
  • Provide procurement and administrative support to the unit.
  • Assist in coordinating training programmes and compiling related reports (WSP, QMR, ATR).
  • Support bursary administration and maintain a training database.

Minimum Requirements

  • South African citizenship.
  • Must be unemployed graduates who have not previously participated in internship programmes.
  • Qualifications: National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) in:
    • Human Resource Management / Human Resource Development
    • Management of Training / Public Management
  • All foreign qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA.
  • Willingness to relocate if internship is outside applicant’s area of residence.
