The Department of Employment and Labour promotes employee health, wellness, and occupational safety across all government departments in South Africa. Position Overview

The Department invites unemployed graduates to apply for the Employee Health and Wellness Programme Internship 2025–2027. This internship offers hands-on experience in implementing health and wellness programmes, occupational support services, and employee well-being initiatives in the public sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of employee health and wellness programmes.
  • Support occupational health and wellness services within the department.
  • Contribute to initiatives promoting staff well-being and productivity.
  • Maintain records and reports for wellness programmes.

Minimum Requirements

  • South African citizenship.
  • Must be unemployed graduates who have not previously participated in internship programmes.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:
    • Social Work
    • Psychology
    • Occupational Health and Safety
  • All foreign qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA.
  • Willingness to relocate if internship is outside applicant’s area of residence.
