Position Overview

The Department is inviting unemployed graduates to apply for the BCEA Internship Programme 2025–2027. This internship offers practical exposure to labour law compliance, inspections, and administrative processes, enabling graduates to gain valuable professional experience within government.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Sectoral Determinations (SD), and National Minimum Wage Act (NMWA).
  • Conduct inspections to assess levels of compliance.
  • Assist in investigating complaints related to contraventions of BCEA, SD, and NMWA.
  • Provide administrative support to inspectors.
  • Compile and consolidate reports from inspections and investigations.

Minimum Requirements

  • South African citizenship.
  • Must be unemployed graduates who have not participated in a prior internship programme.
  • Qualifications: National Diploma (NQF Level 6, 360 credits) or Undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7, 480 credits) in:
    • Labour Relations
    • BCom Law / LLB
    • Labour Law / Commercial Law
  • All foreign qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA.
  • Willingness to relocate if internship is outside applicant’s area of residence.
