The Inspector positions are offered at a competitive salary level of:
Salary: R269 499 per annum

Successful candidates will be placed at the following Labour Centres:

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for these Inspector posts, applicants must meet the following criteria:

A three (3) year tertiary qualification in one of the following fields:
-
Labour Relations
-
BCom Law
-
LLB
-
-
A valid driver’s licence
-
Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation, including but not limited to:

Skills Development Act
-
Labour Relations Act
-
Basic Conditions of Employment Act
-
Unemployment Insurance Act
-
Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act
-
Employment Equity Act
-
-
Understanding of departmental policies and procedures
Required Skills and Competencies
Applicants should demonstrate strong professional and interpersonal capabilities, including:

Computing skills, including spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and word processing

Interpersonal and interviewing skills

Analytical and problem-solving abilities

These skills are essential to ensure inspections and investigations are conducted effectively and in line with departmental standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of inspection and enforcement functions, including:

Conducting occupational inspections to ensure employer compliance with all applicable labour legislation

Executing investigations into reported cases of non-compliance or contravention of labour laws

Enforcing labour legislation where and when necessary in accordance with legal mandates
-
Conducting proactive (Blitz) inspections on a regular basis to monitor and promote compliance
-
Assisting in the drafting of inspection plans, detailed inspection reports, and case documentation
-
Compiling statistics and maintaining accurate records on allocated cases
-
Supporting departmental initiatives aimed at improving workplace compliance and fair labour practices
