Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- Undergraduate qualification at NQF Level 6 in Law, Public Management, Public Administration, Policing, Criminology, Forensics, Criminal Justice or related fields recognised by SAQA.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of the Immigration Act, Refugees Act, and South African Constitution.
- Knowledge of Public Service Regulatory Framework.
- Valid driverβs license (Code B/C1/C/EC1) and valid Public Driver Permit (PDP).
- Willingness to travel outside borders and work extended hours.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Immigration Law Enforcement
- Enforce the Immigration Act 13 of 2002 (as amended) and other relevant legislation.
- Detect, trace, detain, and prosecute illegal foreigners within the country.
- Process deportation of illegal foreigners to their country of origin.
- Conduct inspections with or without warrants and enforce compliance with immigration regulations.
Investigations and Legal Support
- Conduct investigations on transgressions of the Immigration Act, Refugees Act, or other departmental legislation.
- Issue notices, present evidence in court, and issue admission of guilt fines.
- Support law enforcement operations and anti-corruption cases in collaboration with other security cluster agencies.
Client and Record Management
- Monitor records of foreigners residing in South Africa without legal documentation.
- Process and manage detention warrants and deportation procedures.
- Ensure accurate capture and safekeeping of records, state properties, and departmental assets.
Training and Compliance
- Participate in ongoing training to strengthen knowledge of immigration enforcement.
- Implement policies and procedures according to approved frameworks.
- Monitor compliance of resources and personnel under supervision.
