Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ)
The Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Handyman, based at the Land Court in Randburg. The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
-
Grade 10, ABET Level 3, or a recognised trade certificate
-
Minimum of one (1) year relevant work experience
-
Must be physically healthy
-
Experienced driving capabilities

Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Knowledge of operating hand tools and power tools

Knowledge of building infrastructure layouts

Basic computer literacy

Ability to work independently

Semi-skilled in plumbing, electrical, bricklaying, carpentry, or mechanical trades

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
-
Relocating office equipment as and when required
-
Coordinating the removal, disposal, repair, or replacement of damaged office furniture and equipment
-
Ensuring safety awareness when using equipment for all tasks
-
Fitting globes and fixing plugs
-
Unblocking toilets, basins, and drains
-
Fitting and fixing doors and locks
-
Ensuring all work complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and departmental standards
-
Overseeing the quality of office equipment delivered
-
Reporting breakages to the supervisor for landlord repairs
-
Repairing damaged office equipment and attending to minor repairs
-
Signing job cards for services rendered by service providers
-
Overseeing building maintenance carried out by service providers
-
Accompanying landlords and contractors during maintenance and repairs
-
Recording inspections conducted on infrastructure
-
Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance conducted at the national office
