About the Graduate Programme

The AFGRI Animal Feeds Graduate Programme is designed to equip graduates with hands-on experience across key functional areas relevant to animal nutrition and sales support.

Graduates will gain exposure to operational nutrition processes and sales and marketing functions, contributing to research, data collection, and analytical tasks. The programme aims to provide meaningful workplace learning aligned with academic qualifications in agriculture and animal science.

The successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contract and will work closely with experienced professionals to develop practical knowledge and industry competence.

Key Learning Areas and Responsibilities

Graduates will perform duties relevant to the Sales and Marketing and Operational Nutrition departments.

The role includes data collection and analysis to support research and operational requirements.

Participants will apply research skills and analytical capabilities within an agricultural and animal nutrition context.

Accuracy and attention to detail are essential when handling research data and operational information.

Strong written and verbal communication skills will be required to support departmental reporting and collaboration.

Minimum Requirements

Must be a South African citizen.

Must not have worked full time (for more than one year) in their field of study.

Should be based in the city of hire.

Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Animal Science) is required.

Master of Science in Agriculture (Animal Nutrition) will be an advantage.

Knowledge of Animal Nutrition is required.

Research and data analytical skills are required.

Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are required.

Knowledge of research methods and data collection is required.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.

Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) is required.

Duration of the Programme

Successful candidates will be enrolled on a 24-month fixed-term contract.

This structured period allows graduates to gain comprehensive exposure to operational and commercial aspects of animal feeds within the agricultural sector.
