Position Overview

CIPC is inviting applications for 1 Graduate Internship in Innovation and Collaboration, based at the Sunnyside Office in Pretoria. The internship is part of a 24-month Graduate Internship Programme, offering graduates practical experience in software and mobile application development, innovation initiatives, and technology-driven collaboration projects.

This programme targets unemployed South African graduates, aged 18–35, who are seeking to develop software development skills in a professional public sector environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in mobile and software application development projects.

  • Support the design, development, and testing of mobile applications aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technology innovation and collaborative initiatives.

  • Contribute to hackathons, coding challenges, and project brainstorming sessions.

  • Document, monitor, and report on development progress and deliverables.

  • Support the implementation of mobile solutions for government processes and services.


Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, with Mobile Application Development as a major module.

  • Minimum 75% final year average in the qualification.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mobile application development.

  • South African citizen aged 18–35 years.

  • No previous internship experience in the same programme.

Desirable:

  • Experience with mobile programming languages such as Java, Swift, Kotlin, or React Native.

  • Basic understanding of Agile software development methodologies.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to learning.

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Interns will sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement.
