Warehouse and Assistant Driver Support Role in the Consumer Division

RCL Milling within the Consumer division is seeking to appoint an experienced General Worker – Assistant Driver for its operations in Pretoria-West, Gauteng. This is a permanent position responsible for ensuring that loading and offloading of company products is completed efficiently while supporting drivers with daily delivery operations.

About the Role

The General Worker – Assistant Driver ensures that company products are loaded and unloaded correctly and safely. The role involves assisting drivers with delivery routes, ensuring proper documentation is completed, and maintaining cleanliness of delivery vehicles.

The position requires flexibility, as the successful candidate must be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. A strong work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to follow instructions from supervisors are essential to perform effectively in this role.

This position requires a hands-on individual who is comfortable performing physically demanding tasks, including walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting heavy objects repeatedly during working hours.

Loading and Offloading Responsibilities

The General Worker is responsible for loading and unloading company products in a safe and efficient manner.

Care must be taken to ensure products are handled correctly to prevent damage during transportation and storage.

Assistance must be provided to drivers when locating delivery addresses to ensure timely deliveries.

At the end of each shift, the delivery vehicle must be unloaded properly in accordance with operational procedures.

Accuracy and attention to detail are essential when handling goods to maintain inventory integrity and customer satisfaction.

Delivery Support and Documentation

The role requires compiling accurate delivery records and reports to ensure proper documentation of goods transported.

Clients’ and customers’ signatures must be obtained as acknowledgment of receipt of delivered products.

Any delivery-related problems must be reported promptly to management to ensure timely resolution.

Strong communication skills are necessary to interact professionally with customers and internal team members.

The General Worker must maintain accurate records that support accountability and compliance with operational requirements.

Vehicle Maintenance and Housekeeping

The General Worker is responsible for cleaning trucks to ensure vehicles remain in good condition and presentable at all times.

General housekeeping tasks within the work environment must be carried out to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 is required.

Candidate must be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Own reliable transport to and from work is required.

Clean criminal record is required.

Candidate must be medically fit.

Proven experience in warehousing, manufacturing, or transport and logistics environments is required.

Ability to walk, bend, push, pull, and lift heavy objects repetitively during working hours is required.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential.

Self-motivation and the ability to complete tasks without direct supervision are required.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is necessary.

Strong work ethic and ability to carry out all reasonable instructions from a Supervisor are required.
