Motus Corporation, operating within the VW and Audi business unit, is currently recruiting an experienced and results-driven General Sales Manager for its Motus VW Group dealership based in Sandton, Gauteng.

This permanent, mid-to-senior level opportunity is suited to a strategic sales leader with strong automotive industry experience, proven revenue growth success, and the ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing sales teams in a competitive retail environment.


About the Role

The General Sales Manager plays a critical leadership role within the dealership’s management structure. Reporting into senior regional leadership, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all sales operations, driving revenue growth, managing sales performance, and ensuring alignment with Motus VW’s strategic objectives.

This role requires a strong balance of commercial insight, people leadership, operational discipline, and customer-focused execution to ensure sustained sales success and market competitiveness.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership and Performance Management

  • Oversee and manage the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.

  • Set clear performance objectives and monitor individual and team results.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

  • Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability and results.

Sales Strategy and Revenue Growth

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies aligned to business goals.

  • Drive revenue growth through structured planning and execution.

  • Develop and manage sales forecasts and budget plans.

Market and Customer Engagement

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other dealership departments to ensure alignment of sales initiatives.

  • Support integrated operational execution across finance, aftersales, and marketing.

  • Ensure sales strategies align with overall dealership and Motus Group objectives.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales management, preferably within the automotive or related retail industry.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.

  • Willingness to travel for business meetings and industry events when required.
