Position Overview
Fedics is seeking a Food Services Assistant – Corporate to join our Pinelands team. The successful candidate will assist Cooks and Chefs with meal preparation, serve food, operate the cash register, and maintain a clean and hygienic canteen and kitchen environment.
This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for food services, customer interaction, and operational excellence in a fast-paced corporate catering environment.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards comply with company and statutory regulations.

Assist in the preparation of meals, including salads and desserts.
-
Serve food on the serving line and keep it well-stocked and clean.
-
Maintain canteen tables, kitchen, and work areas in an orderly manner.
-
Assist in training new employees when required.
-
Store and record food leftovers appropriately.
-
Ensure customer expectations are met according to contract provisions.
-
Monitor stock levels and sign over to the correct staff on the next shift.

Respond to customer complaints or compliments professionally.
-
Attend meetings and training sessions as required.

Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
-
Must have completed at least a National Senior Certificate (Matric).
Experience:
-
Previous experience in food services, catering, or corporate canteen operations is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:

Enjoys practical, methodical, and hands-on work.
-
Honest, reliable, and disciplined.
-
Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to work safely.
-
Maintains excellent personal hygiene.

Able to work as part of a team.
-
Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and work 45–50 hours per week.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Free from skin allergies to food or detergents.
