Purpose of the Role

Key Responsibilities – Food Service Aid
Food Preparation & Service
- Hygienically prepare food — washing, cutting, and cooking — in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Prepare and serve tea, coffee, and drinks — and supply water on dining tables throughout meal service periods.
- Serve food to base personnel promptly and correctly; set and wait on tables, including appropriate table decoration.
- Pack supplies received in food storage areas — correctly storing all deliveries to maintain organised, hygienic food storage.
Kitchen & Dining Hall Hygiene
- Keep the kitchen, dining hall, and food storage areas clean and tidy at all times.
- Remove all kitchen waste and wash up after meals — restoring all areas to a clean, organised state after every service.
- Apply a high standard of hygiene and safety measures throughout the work environment without exception.
Access Control & Equipment Management
- Ensure only authorised personnel have access to the kitchen and consume meals — maintaining base catering security at all times.
- Ensure the serviceability of catering equipment — reporting any defects or shortages to the supervisor immediately.
