Position Overview

BFM is seeking an experienced Engineering Services Manager to oversee the infrastructure and engineering operations at the Kimberley site. The successful candidate will ensure asset reliability, planned maintenance, reactive support, and engineering excellence across all facilities, while maintaining strong relationships with clients and adhering to operational standards.

The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, proactive, and capable of managing teams to achieve high standards of operational efficiency and asset management.


Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Asset Management

  • Maintain all infrastructure and assets according to specified service standards.

  • Support and implement the planned maintenance programme to ensure minimal downtime and business continuity.

  • Proactively identify potential equipment or asset failures and implement corrective actions.

  • Identify assets requiring upgrades or replacement for capital investment planning.

  • Investigate plant or equipment failures, determine root causes, and recommend solutions.

  • Ensure all reactive maintenance work is carried out according to work orders and quality standards.

Engineering & Technical Support

  • Approve proposals for new plant and equipment, providing specifications in accordance with BFM and Barclay’s standards.

  • Provide specialist technical knowledge and guidance to Facilities and Project Managers.

  • Ensure assets are operated and maintained according to operational specifications.

  • Implement incident management protocols to mitigate business risks.

Planning, Reporting & Client Engagement

  • Plan and execute all planned maintenance activities on schedule.

  • Monitor and report on asset and building availability and reliability.

  • Manage breakdowns, planned outages, and root cause analysis outcomes.

  • Complete and manage reactive work requests efficiently.

  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with client representatives and internal teams.


Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • N6 Diploma in Engineering.

  • Grade 12 / Senior Certificate.

  • Code B Driver’s License.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Facilities Management.

  • Strong technical knowledge and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced) and SAP.

  • Knowledge of Maintenance Engineering, Physical Asset Management, OHS Act, and First Line Management.

Advantageous:

  • Certified Data Centre Professional.

  • Knowledge of Finance for Non-Financial Managers.

  • General Health & Safety knowledge.
