Retail E-Commerce Operations and Online Sales Administration Role
AFGRI Retail is seeking a skilled and organised E-Commerce Administrator to be based in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng. This permanent opportunity is ideal for a candidate with retail experience and a strong understanding of supply chain processes who is ready to contribute to the efficient management of online sales and digital operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering AFGRI’s E-Commerce Operations, ensuring effective management of online sales, inventory, supplier coordination, and customer service. This role plays a key part in maintaining the performance and growth of the AFGRI Online Platform.
About the Role
The E-Commerce Administrator supports the full cycle of online retail operations. This includes managing online product data, processing supplier invoices, overseeing stock forecasting, assisting with order fulfilment, and maintaining customer and supplier relationships.
The role requires attention to detail, strong administrative skills, and the ability to coordinate between operational, procurement, and customer service functions. A working knowledge of eCommerce platforms and ERP systems will be advantageous.
This position is well suited to a candidate who is highly organised, business-oriented, and committed to optimising digital retail processes.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 is required.
A Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent qualification is required.
A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in a retail environment with an understanding of supply chain processes is required.
Experience in an eCommerce environment or digital marketing role with knowledge of eCommerce platforms will be advantageous.
Experience in vendor or supplier management is required.
Key Performance Areas
Administration and Reporting
The E-Commerce Administrator will obtain and upload original invoices with supporting documentation to the relevant system.
Orders for service vendors must be processed and tracked to ensure accurate order status updates.
Invoice information must be verified to ensure compliance with SARS requirements.
Documentation must be prepared and submitted for payment, and supplier queries must be handled efficiently and professionally.
Inventory Control and Product Sourcing
The role includes managing online master data and monitoring content accuracy.
Online catalogue sanity checks must be conducted, and accurate product information must be sourced and maintained.
Promotional items and pricing must be maintained, and out-of-stock products monitored to ensure availability.
Operational Process and Support
The E-Commerce Administrator will assist with the procurement of escalated orders and manage returns processing.
Operational processes such as goods receiving, order processing, and dispatching must be supervised to ensure efficiency.
Operational materials must be managed to ensure effective support of online sales functions.
Stock Management
The role involves managing inventory based on minimum order quantities and long lead times.
Stock forecasting and management must support promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives.
Inventory levels and turnover must be reported, and participation in branch stock counts is required.
Customer Service
Strong supplier and customer relationships must be maintained.
Leads must be generated and converted into sales opportunities.
Customer queries must be handled professionally with timely responses.
Technical Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
Working knowledge of eCommerce technologies and platforms is required.
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning tools such as SAP, SAGE, or Kerridge is required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
