Position Overview
Job Title: Dealership Accountant (Motor Industry)
Location: Randburg, Johannesburg, Gauteng

Salary: R312 000 – R336 000 per annum (R26 000 – R28 000 monthly, depending on experience)
The Dealership Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of the dealership’s accounting operations. This includes managing reconciliations, cash flow, debtor and creditor functions, and supporting the dealership’s financial performance and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting

Perform accurate bank reconciliations and account allocations.

Manage receipting, debtor allocation, and debtor reporting.

Prepare detailed cash flow forecasts and oversee cash flow activities.

Maintain and reconcile all cash ledger accounts.

Complete and submit FIC reports in compliance with financial regulations.
Accounts and Administration

Handle petty cash and banking transactions efficiently.

Oversee accounts payable and ensure timely supplier payments.

Manage vehicle administration and maintain up-to-date financial records.

Conduct general ledger reconciliations and ensure data accuracy.

Process OEM warranty and fleet claims timeously.

Manage floorplan payments, Dealer Incentive Claims (DIC), and control ordering books.
Team and Process Support

Collaborate across multiple automotive franchises.

Support management with month-end reporting and financial analysis.

Identify process improvements and ensure compliance with dealership financial policies.

Perform additional administrative and accounting duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Qualifications

Diploma in Accounting or an equivalent financial qualification.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role within a motor dealership environment.
Technical Skills

Proficiency in Evolve Dealership Management System (essential).

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Strong numerical accuracy and analytical ability.

Comprehensive understanding of dealership financial processes.
