Position Overview

The Land Court in Randburg is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Data Capturer to join the OCJ administrative team. This role focuses on accurately capturing and managing data, maintaining recruitment records, and supporting verification and personnel vetting processes. It’s an excellent opportunity for recent matriculants seeking to gain experience in government data administration and human resource support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Capture data from available records into databases, spreadsheets, and tables

  • Verify and correct missing or incorrect data entries

  • Conduct regular data validation and backups to ensure data integrity

  • Capture candidate applications on master database lists

  • Conduct personnel suitability verification processes, including:

    • Capturing fingerprints of shortlisted candidates

    • Uploading data to systems for verification

    • Processing criminal, citizenship, qualification, and reference checks

    • Consolidating outcomes from service providers and preparing summary reports

  • Maintain accurate and confidential recruitment and selection records

  • Open and manage office files for advertised positions

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to the sub-directorate

  • File and archive old recruitment documents as per checklist procedures

  • Collate, analyze, and interpret statistical data for reporting and decision-making

  • Provide administrative support services within the sub-directorate, including stationery management


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4)

  • No prior work experience required (entry-level)

  • A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Proficiency in Excel functions including autofill, formulas, sorting, and filtering

  • Knowledge of clerical duties, data entry, and public service administrative principles

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high integrity

  • Customer service orientation and teamwork ability

  • Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles
