Engineering Administration Opportunity with VKB Agri Processors

Grain Field Chickens, a subsidiary of VKB Agriculture (Pty) Ltd, is currently recruiting for a Data Capturer – Engineering at its abattoir in Reitz, North Eastern Free State. About the Role

As part of the Engineering Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for capturing job cards and other engineering-related documents in line with company standards.

The role supports engineering and workshop operations by ensuring that all documentation, job cards, reports, and records are processed accurately and within required deadlines. This is a critical administrative function that contributes to operational efficiency and maintenance tracking within the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate data capturing within the Engineering Department.

Opening and closing of job cards forms part of the daily responsibilities.

All relevant documents must be scanned onto File Director as required.

General filing of documents must be completed within the required deadlines.

The role includes compiling reports and taking minutes when required.

The Data Capturer must take full responsibility in the absence of the Planner.

Additional tasks may be assigned by the line manager as operational needs arise.

The position requires strict attention to detail and adherence to company procedures to ensure accurate record-keeping within the engineering and workshop environment.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent is required.

A technical qualification or course will be advantageous.

Candidates must have 2 to 5 years’ administration or data capturing experience within an Engineering or Workshop environment.

A good understanding of invoicing and job cards is required.

Some parts store experience will be advantageous.

Knowledge of the On-Key system or Pragma will be beneficial.

Demonstrable computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.

Applicants must be willing to work overtime, including weekends, when operationally required.

Skills and Competencies

Logical thinking ability is essential for handling job card processes and documentation workflows.

Strong data-capturing skills are required to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Effective communication skills are necessary for coordination within the Engineering Department.

The ability to work independently while maintaining high standards is required.
